Verona, Amalfi e Plana
New bedroom furniture products:
interpretation of the needs of contemporary
living, with an evocative, subtle style
A delicate balance of domestic memories and contemporary functions: the new Pianca
wardrobes interpret the fluidity of our times with precise and evocative style that
reflects new functions and use.
Verona, designed by Calvi Brambilla, is the product of a new interpretation of the
classic framed door front, featuring geometric compositions and squares of different
sizes. A groove in the wardrobe frame ensures discreet opening, with no visible
handles. With Verona, the Milanese design studio continues its professional voyage
with Pianca for whom it has already created high-profile complements like the Ettore
table, Logos bedroom set, Baio occasional tables and Laurie armchair.
“When we design a piece of furniture, we're already thinking about the home it will
go into”, says Paolo Brambilla, who, with Fabio Calvi loves to design with an old-
school approach, without cleanly separating architecture from interior design,
always considering the two spheres together. “For us a good object must be honest;
it must not pretend to be anything other than itself. It must have different levels of
interpretation and the ability to speak to different kinds of people. It must be
sustainable which means it can be dismantled and recycled”.

Amalfi and Plana, by the Pianca Research & Design Centre, accommodate new
functions, with a home office niche concealed inside for hybrid contemporary home
environments.
Flexibility, simple design and custom options: Amalfi accommodates new uses inside.
Like the Ala desk, which creates a functional, customized space with drawers, shelves
and container modules.
Plana, the classic wardrobe of the Pianca collection, is a true paean to the beauty of
simple things. Besides the new home office modules, it is enhanced, like Amalfi,
with the new wide "cardine" throw pivot hinge for 180° door opening (recalling the
hinges on doors and fine furniture in past times).

Pianca has also expanded its collection of handles. With a curvy design in leather,
the C25 handle is an homage to the classic world of leather goods, and the square-
shaped Q15 adds bold accent colour or subtle detail to the door front.
